LA Travel Guide
It’s the city aspiring starlets the world over flock to in order to follow their dreams, and due to its endlessly sunny weather, beautiful beaches and vibrant city life, Los Angeles is also a dream holiday destination. Steeped in history, and with a story around every corner, Los Angeles is a place you’ll want to visit time and time again. With numerous hiking trails to explore, Los Angeles is also a great place for those who want to combine an activity holiday with a city break. If you are planning to explore the sometimes steep and rugged canyons of Los Angeles, remember to invest in some sturdy hiking boots along with your travel cover before you go.
Los Angeles is bursting at the seams with things to see and do. For this reason, it’s a city that always requires a return trip. Here are three attractions you cannot miss when visiting the City of Angels.
Universal Studios Hollywood
When in the land of movies and make believe, a trip to Universal Studios Hollywood, is a must. I mean, who doesn’t want to take a step back in time to experience some real Hollywood history? Or you could just check out the Transformers and Jurassic Park rides. Newly opened is The Wizarding World of Harry Potter (April 2016) where you can visit the classrooms of Hogwarts and join Harry and friends on their adventures! This is a top attraction for kids and adults alike and is not to be missed.
The Hollywood Sign
Let’s face it, Los Angeles is a land where money talks. But if you’re a savvy traveller there are numerous free attractions on offer in Los Angeles. You just have to seek them out. Number one on my list of free attractions in Los Angeles is the iconic Hollywood Sign. It’s something you have to go see when you’re in Los Angeles and best of all – it’s free! You’ll get the best pictures of the Hollywood sign from Lake Hollywood Park. Another great free attraction in Los Angeles is The Getty Villa, (reservation required) which is free to tour, although there is a parking fee of $15.
Hollywood Walk of Fame
You’ll need some great photos to show off to your friends when you returns from your Los Angeles holiday, and this is where you’ll get them. A lot of attractions in Los Angeles come equipped with the ‘iconic’ tag, and the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Hollywood Boulevard is certainly no exception. Take a few snaps here with your favourite stars and share a little trivia with your travel party. For example, did you know that Mickey Mouse was the first animated character to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame? Other animated honourees include Bugs Bunny, Tinkerbell, The Simpsons and Shrek.
